We have recently published our 2019 Annual Review which can be downloaded from the Publications page on our website.
The focus of our work in the last few years is to promote professionalism. This has reinforced the main purpose of the Chartered Institute which is
• to advance the practice of archaeology
• to define and maintain proper professional standards and ethics in training and education in archaeology, and
• to disseminate information about archaeologists and their areas of interest
Every year staff and the Board, with input from the Advisory Council, agree a programme of work to meet our planned objectives, and this Annual Review provides an opportunity to report on our recent achievements and to highlight the ones we are most excited about.
The review particularly focuses on our work relating to professional accreditation and registration, professional development, professional standards, equality and diversity in archaeology and policy, partnerships and collaboration.
The Annual Review also gives us the opportunity formally to thank our volunteer members for their contribution to the Institute. We would also like to thank the organisations and employers who allow their staff the time to commit to the Institute.
