The Government has today launched its Housing White Paper, which sets out to 'fix our broken housing market', and ensure that more homes are built, faster, and 'in the right places'.
CIfA has an interest in the White Paper as it relates to the Government's ongoing agenda to 'streamline' planning - an agenda which has put it at odds with heritage and environmental safeguards, currently assured through the planning system. In the case of the White Paper, the policies proposed for the releasing of more land for development and speeding up decision-making, are ones which will demand close scrutiny, based on recent precedent in the Housing and Planning Act, and Neighbourhood Planning Bill.
CIfA will release a full statement in the coming days. In the meantime, you can download the White Paper here.
