Earlier this year, CIfA was commissioned by the Department for Communities, Historic Environment Division (HED) with support from the Historic Environment fund to undertake a project to develop a suite of aligned documents to support, facilitate and enable the archaeological profession in Northern Ireland to deliver archaeological activities to recognised professional standards. In line with the recommendation of Archaeology 2030: A Strategic Approach for NI this project focuses on the review of Standards and guidance in Northern Ireland including those published by CIfA and the Institute of Archaeologists of Ireland (IAI).
The first phase of the project completed in March 2021 and CIfA are delighted to announce that IAC Archaeology have been appointed to help deliver the second phase.
