18 – 24 May 2020 is mental health awareness week
According to the Mental Health Foundation it is estimated that in England, 1 in 6 people in the past week experienced a common mental health problem. Mental health is a global issue.
Archaeology, like all professions, has the potential to be detrimental to people’s mental health; and the current pandemic has impacted some of us further by throwing us into unplanned and uncertain situations. Mental health awareness week gives us the opportunity to join others in celebrating existing good practice, raising awareness of the issues, and sharing ideas about how we can do a better job at protecting ourselves and others. This week we will be
-
Raising awareness of the resources on our website to support wellbeing
-
Sharing case studies from members and Registered Organisations
-
Having a themed room at our Thursday tea break focusing on kindness and mental health
-
Asking you to share what you’ve been doing to support your or your colleagues' mental health
-
Taking part in the Mental Health Foundation’s Take Action, Get Active campaign, sharing our activities on social media, and hoping you’ll join in with us!
