CIfA-Part-time Senior Professional Development and Practice Coordinator

Do you want to help deliver the vision for Scotland’s archaeology?

Scotland’s Archaeology Strategy outlines five high level aims (http://archaeologystrategy.scot/files/2015/08/ScotlandsArchaeologyStrate...) and the accompanying implementation plan identifies CIfA as the lead partner for Aim Five – Innovation and Skills. With funding from Historic Environment Scotland to deliver a programme of activities in support of Aim Five, CIfA is now looking to appoint a part-time Senior Professional Development and Practice Coordinator to support its work in Scotland.

You should be educated to degree level or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of competence gained in the workplace, and be familiar with the historic environment sector in Scotland. You should also have a commitment to high professional standards, supported by an interest in skills and professional development. Confident and self-motivated, you will be able to manage a varied, and at times challenging, workload. As a home-based member of the CIfA team, you must be comfortable working with minimal supervision and be willing (and able) to travel throughout Scotland.

We are also keen to hear from individuals who might be interested in undertaking the role on a freelance, contract basis.

For an informal chat about the post, please contact Kate Geary, Head of Professional Development and Practice on 07788 912097 or at the email address below. To apply, send your CV and a covering letter setting out how you meet the essential and desirable criteria from the person specification to kate.geary [at] archaeologists.net.

Closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday 22 May. It is anticipated that interviews will be held during the week beginning 29 May, in Edinburgh.
