Archaeology to be a focus for RTPI Rural Planning event in Horsham on 4 March

Date: Wednesday, 04 March 2020 at 1:00PM - 5:00PM

Venue: Horsham District Council, Parkside, Chart Way, Horsham, West Sussex RH12 1RL

CIfA is really pleased to be supporting RTPI at another regional CPD meeting. It’s so important that we communicate and engage with a range of audiences outside archaeology to enhance the profile and reputation of the profession. This event is one opportunity to do so.

Rob Bourn from Orion Heritage (CIfA Registered Organisation) will be speaking about the historic environment and the countryside in relation to start land, using examples of schemes that have assimilated well with existing heritage assets and rural surrounds, including the use of sensitive rural design and appropriate materials.

Also speaking are Tom Ormesher from the National Farmers Union South East and Kevin Leigh of 33 Bedford Row chambers alongside Peter Home from Turley planning consultants, Olivia Wojniak of Reading Agricultural Consultants and Georgina Timmis from ECOSA, a leading ecological consultancy. The chair is Angela Moore of Horsham District Council.

The planning process changes regularly and it is critical that planning professionals, both local authority planners and planning consultants, are aware of how archaeology fits into the planning system.

CIfA members can attend this event at the same rate as RTPI members. Please visit https://www.rtpi.org.uk/seruralplanning20 to for more details and to book.
